Accurate measurements are the foundation of a great-fitting catsuit. Because latex has limited stretch compared to knit fabrics, every centimetre matters. This guide walks you through the full measurement process.
What You Need
- A flexible measuring tape (fabric or tailor’s tape, not metal)
- Form-fitting clothing or underwear — loose clothing adds error
- A helper, if possible, for hard-to-reach measurements
- A mirror, so you can check tape placement
- A pen and paper, or use our digital measurement form in your profile
General Rules
💡 Key Principles
- • Stand naturally. Don’t suck in your stomach or puff out your chest.
- • Keep the tape level and snug but not tight — you should be able to slide a finger under it.
- • Measure each point twice and use the average if the values differ.
- • Measure in centimetres (cm) for maximum precision.
Upper Body Measurements
- Neck circumference: Around the base of the neck, where a shirt collar sits.
- Shoulder width: From the tip of one shoulder to the other, across the back.
- Chest / bust: Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms.
- Under-bust (if applicable): Directly below the bust line.
- Waist: At the natural waistline — the narrowest point of the torso, usually at navel level.
- Upper arm circumference: Around the thickest part of the bicep, arm relaxed.
- Wrist circumference: Around the wrist bone.
- Arm length: From shoulder tip to wrist bone, arm slightly bent.
- Torso length (front): From the base of the neck (front) to the crotch, passing over the chest.
- Torso length (back): From the base of the neck (back) to the crotch, passing over the buttocks.
Lower Body Measurements
- Hips: Around the widest point of the hips and buttocks.
- Upper thigh circumference: At the very top of the thigh, just below the crotch.
- Mid-thigh circumference: Halfway between the crotch and the knee.
- Knee circumference: Around the centre of the kneecap.
- Calf circumference: Around the widest part of the calf.
- Ankle circumference: Around the ankle bone.
- Inseam: From the crotch to the inner ankle bone.
- Outseam: From the waistline to the outer ankle bone.
Head & Face (If Ordering a Mask)
If you are adding a mask or hood to your suit, you will also need these measurements:
- Head circumference: Around the widest part of the head, above the ears.
- Crown to chin: Over the top of the head from hairline to chin tip.
- Ear to ear (over top): From the top of one ear, over the crown, to the top of the other ear.
- Eye spacing & mouth width: Only needed for open-eye or open-mouth hoods. We will provide a face template for these.
Feet (If Ordering Socks or Toe Socks)
If your build includes latex socks or toe socks, measure the following:
- Foot length: From heel to longest toe, standing on a flat surface.
- Foot circumference: Around the widest part of the ball of the foot.
- Individual toe widths: Only needed for toe socks — measure the circumference of each toe at its widest point.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
⚠ Watch Out For
- • Measuring over clothes: Even a t-shirt can add 2–3 cm to a chest measurement.
- • Pulling the tape too tight: This produces a suit that is too small and difficult to put on.
- • Forgetting the crotch-to-waist: This is critical for rise and comfort.
- • Rounding numbers: Record the exact measurement, even if it’s 87.5 cm.
