  • ▸A bespoke suit is built from 6 core decisions — we cover each below

Buying your first bespoke latex catsuit can feel overwhelming — there are dozens of options, unfamiliar terms, and a real investment involved. This guide is your map. We break the whole process into six clear decisions and link you to a detailed guide for each one. Read it top to bottom once, and you’ll understand everything you need to configure your suit with confidence.

In a hurry?

If you just want a safe, popular starting point: 0.4 mm latex, light chlorination, back-zip entry, socks, in a colour you love. You can refine everything else from there. Ready now? Choose your silhouette to begin.

Step 1 — Choose Your Latex Thickness

Thickness (measured in millimetres) is the single biggest influence on how your suit feels. Thinner latex (0.25–0.4 mm) is light, stretchy and sensual; thicker latex (0.5–0.8 mm) is more robust, more “hugging”, and holds its shine beautifully. For a first suit, 0.4 mm is the sweet spot — forgiving to dress, durable, and comfortable.

→ Full details: Latex Thickness guide.

Step 2 — Decide How You Get In

Your entry method is about practicality. A back zip is the most beginner-friendly — easy to reach with help, secure, and unobtrusive. A neck-entry suit has no zip for the cleanest look, but requires more skill (and chlorination) to put on. Front zips split the difference.

→ Compare them all: Suit Entry guide.

Step 3 — Choose Chlorination

Chlorination is a treatment that makes the inside of the suit smooth, so it slides on without talc or lubricant. For a first suit we strongly recommend light chlorination: dressing becomes far easier (a common beginner frustration) while the exterior keeps its full shine.

→ Learn more: Chlorination guide.

Step 4 — Get Your Measurements Right

This is the most important step

A bespoke suit is only as good as its measurements. A 2 cm error can change the entire fit. Take your time, use our step-by-step method, and measure twice.

→ The full method: How to Measure guide.

Step 5 — Pick Your Details

Now the fun part — the details that make the suit yours. None of these are “wrong” choices; they are about how you intend to wear it.

  • Hood or mask — open head, partial, or full enclosure. See Mask Options.
  • Feet — open ankle, stirrups, socks, or toe socks. See Feet Options.
  • Crotch closure — for practicality and comfort. See Crotch Closure.
  • Seams — standard flat or body-contour shaping. See Seam Patterns.

Step 6 — Understand Timeline & Care

Bespoke latex is made by hand, to your body. A standard suit takes around 14 weeks; an express option is available, and chlorination adds about two weeks. Once it arrives, a little routine care keeps it perfect for years — and knowing how to wear it comfortably makes all the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

What latex thickness is best for a first catsuit?

0.4 mm is the ideal starting point. It gives a satisfying latex feel with comfortable stretch and good durability, while remaining forgiving to put on and wear.

Is chlorination worth it for beginners?

Yes. Chlorination makes the inside of the latex smooth and slippery, so you can slide into the suit without lubricant and dress far more quickly — a big help when you are still learning.

How do I make sure my catsuit fits?

Accurate measurements are essential. Follow our measuring guide carefully, measure twice, and enter your exact numbers in the configurator for a made-to-measure fit.

How long should I wear my first suit?

Start with shorter sessions to get used to the feel and temperature of latex, then build up gradually. Our long-wear guide covers comfort and safety in detail.

How do I care for my catsuit?

Rinse it after each wear, dry it fully away from direct heat, and apply silicone polish to keep it shining. See the latex care guide for the full routine.
